LHCR is the Medicare Quality
Improvement Organization (QIO)
for Louisiana. In this capacity,
LHCR is the leader in driving quality
and scientific-based approaches to
the delivery of health care across
all settings statewide. LHCR has
consistently produced leading results
among a national network of Medicare
QIOs, particularly in the areas of
disease prevention, wellness and
chronic care. Our scope of work
includes working with providers,
hospitals, beneficiaries, nursing homes,
home health agencies, governments
and community-based organizations
throughout the state to lead quality
improvement initiatives.

In Mississippi, eQ Health Solutions operates under
HealthSystems of Mississippi (HSM).
We are the Medicaid QIO for the
State of Mississippi and are Utilization
Review Accreditation Commission
(URAC)-certified as a utilization
management organization. HSM
operates a large call center in Jackson,
Mississippi and has been conducting
quality and utilization management
services in an array of inpatient and
outpatient settings since 1997. HSM
also provides consulting services to
the State of Mississippi, in the areas
of family planning waiver assessment,
community-based behavioral health
alternatives for adolescents, peer
consultation, medical policy, evaluation
of new medical technology and data
base management and IT services.

In Illinois, eQ Health Solutions operates under
HealthSystems of Illinois (HSI). We
are the Medicaid QIO for the State of
Illinois, conducting quality and utilization
management for inpatient acute
medical/surgical, behavioral health
and detoxification hospitalizations.
Our services are conducted for both
per diem and prospective payment
environments. HSI has consistently
achieved significant impact in quality
of care and program savings since its
inception in 2002. We conduct coding
and DRG validation and provide
extensive program and policy consulting
services. HSI also conducts clinical
research projects, develops criteria and
provides extensive consultation for
Illinois’ Home and Community-Based
Services (HCBS) waiver programs.
