Data Collection & Management
Enhancing Care Through Measurement
QualityNet
QualityNet is a Web-based venue that allows your hospital to exchange secure data files with the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) free of charge, thereby providing you with comparative reports for the national topic areas. It is the only CMS-approved method for the electronic transmission of privacy data (i.e., CART and PMS data) between eQHealth Solutions and health care providers.

CART Data Collection Tool
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has developed the CMS Abstraction & Reporting Tool (CART) to provide hospitals with a way to collect the data necessary for CMS and Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) quality of care measures for:
- Acute Myocadial Infarction (AMI)
- Heart Failure (HF)
- Pneumonia (PNE)
-
Surgical Care Improvement Project (SCIP)
CART is a tool used by hospitals nationwide to improve the consistency of quality of care data collection. Whether you are JCAHO accredited or not, using CART will also allow you to compare your quality indicator performance with national and regional aggregated data and pooled data from hospitals with similar bed size.
To download the CART software to your network and/or workstations, visit the CART Web Home Page on the QualityNet Web site.
