Louisiana Health Care Review presents the 1st Louisiana Health Care Quality Summit on April 14th at the Hilton Baton Rouge Capitol Center Hotel. The summit highlights include the formal presentations of the 2007 Louisiana Health Care Quality Awards as well as information on the future health care quality initiative for Louisiana outlined by Governor Bobby Jindal's administration and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). 

In their fourth year, the Louisiana Health Care Quality Awards are given annually to health care organizations that demonstrate a commitment to quality health care delivery by achieving and sustaining measurable improvement in defined indicators of the quality of patient care. Awards criteria and further information for hospital, nursing home, home health and physician office awards may be accessed here.

State capitol buildingGeneral session featured speakers currently include: Alan Levine, Secretary, Louisiana Department of Health & Hospitals speaking on Future Health Care Initiatives in Louisiana. Joe McCannon, Vice President at the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI). Stephen Harden, ATP, Motivational speaker and President of LifeWings Partners, and co-founder of Crew Training International.
